of *squeak* and *squeak* and *squeak* and *squeak* and *squeak*........

I think wifey and I have become those irritating parents that buy those squeaky shoes for their kids. Those irritating shoes that squeaks everytime the kid takes a step.
We got Sophie a pair of shoes for Chinese New Year and only realize that they were the squeaky type when we tried them on her. But at that time we figured that it’s no biggie as Sophie is nor really walking yet. Besides we normally have her in barefoot on the rubber mat when we teach her to walk. So the extent of the irritative-ness did not really dawn on us. Now that Sophie is walking consistently these days, it become clearer to us that our contribution in increasing the stress level of the people around us has increased by a few points. These days, whenever we go out it will be *squeak* *squeak* *squeak* *squeak* *squeak* and I guess I will be expecting hate mails soon.

One strange thing that I notice is that, as irritating as those squeaking can be. The ones from Sophie never bother’s me. In fact it sometimes sounds like music to my ears (and good music I might add). I guess I could be bias but it really does sound fine to me. So I guess the big ‘light bulb’ message to me is that ‘If the squeak comes from your flesh and blood, it is music. But if it’s someone else’s kid, then it’s damn irritating and you’d rather endure multiple root canal (in one sitting!) than to hear another squeak’.

Oh ya, Talia Ann’s daddy got a good point on getting soft soled shoes for Sophie. So I guess that is a good enough reason to replace the squeaky shoes :D

of small steps and tiny house...

As you can see from the previous video, our little girl can now walk. It's been a step by step process for her. Initially, she was reluctant. We would put her up on her feet and encourage her to wake but she will just stand there and then sit down. Or she will just drop on all fours and crawl.
So it came as a surprise when we came home from home one day. As usual we would put her to stand near the sofa and play with her doggie while we go about putting things away and do stuff in the kitchen. Sophie, being the curious little girl that she is will always crawl to the kitchen to see what we are doing. But on this particular day, i guess she got too curious and toftally forgot about crawling and tool a few steps towards the kitchen. (as you can see we have a very tiny house where the distance from the living room to the kitchen is only a few baby steps away:)
I manage to see that and quickly grabbed the camera. but we did not manage to record it.

Anyway, i guess form one or two steps , our little girl seems to have got the hang out of it and have been walikng here and there ever since. I think she like it so much that sometimes she will walk to somewhere and then didn't know what to do when she got there aznd then walk back. silly girl...
